Spending man hours, more... wisely?
Ok, its really starting to bother me. Every time I read new build of guild wars, I get a big fat grin and immediately go to the guild wars site to check it out. I hate to be sadistic but I have been incredibly, horrifically, down right terribly dissapointed.
I spend a lot of my time programming and I know how long and tedious the process is. But do you think you could spend some time on some more important issues. I mean, lets take a look at a few things you changed.
Updated the inventory of the weaponsmith in Maatu Keep.
I didn't even know there was a weaponsmith in Maatu Keep let alone that he had a bad inventory.
Fixed a bug that occasionally caused quest markers and arrows to update incorrectly.
Yeah I encountered this one once, it took me approximately 2/3 of a second to reclick the quest I was doing and fix it.
Fixed some incorrect cinematic voiceovers.
The cinematics are incredibly stupid anyway, at least with this they had the possibility to be entertaining.
Updated art on the following creatures: Naga Wizard, Naga Raincaller, Naga Spellblade, Naga Witch, Naga Bone Collector, and Naga Sibyl.
Was there anything wrong with them in the first place? Hell I went to see um right after this update and couldn't tell a difference.
Fixed a bug that caused some players to disconnect with error 019.
Ok heres where I get off. How many people would you say play guild wars, millions? How many of these people have experienced this bug? 20? And thats 20 people that just once failed to load probably teleporting to a city. How bout they fix a "bug" that bothers all players, like henchmen rezzing, or henchmen issues in vizunah square, or another fifteen things I could probably think of.
I hope sometime in the future when I see "A New Build of Guild Wars is Availible," I can be excited cause I'm really starting to get bothered by this.

Someone needs a hug, minor things are big to those affected.

That's true, a lot of the things I see on the GW website in the updates section seem either pointless, something they should have done a long time ago, or too small for anyone to care or even notice.

Opened alliance chat to all members of the alliance, not just guild officers.
Fixed a bug that prevented players from sending alliance chat messages while observing a game.
Fixed a bug that prevented ignored players from being ignored in guild and alliance chat.
Opened alliance chat is kinda useful, but that took probably 10 seconds of 1 programmers time to change that.
Both olf those bugs I really don't care about.
1. You can still hear messages while observing so thats fine.
2. Why are you ignoring guildies / alliance members? Who does that.

Opening alliance chat just means more members will spam. A bad update there.
Ignoring can be good when there are problems and they wish to avoid fights and rather resolve them with an officer or leader though.
Where's the armor and weapon upgraders as promised?

i especially like the elementalist "updates"
Glyph of Sacrifice: reduced the amount of time it recharges your next spell to 30 seconds.
Ward against Harm: changed skill type to Ward Spell.
Sacrifice...I doubt a decent build uses this skill anyways, instant casting isn't a big deal, a few seconds worth of casting time on an ele isn't the difference between life and death.
And the ward...yeah...it would have taken an amazing 2 seconds to "fix" that? I should think the ward part of the spell is implied though
I agree though, they need to focus on what they promised, more storage being one of those things...

I am also angry that they do this. Not only because it is some bug fix that affects only elementalists with exactly 14,324 experience, but because I an either winning halls or on my way there. Today, I got to halls, won, and the first thing I see after our victory was "A new build of Guild Wars is available...."
Thinking maybe somethng in the game was wrong, I checked out their site. What does it say?
Opened alliance chat to all members of the alliance, not just guild officers.
Fixed a bug that prevented players from sending alliance chat messages while observing a game.
Fixed a bug that prevented players on the ignore list from being correctly ignored in guild and alliance chat.
OMG leethax I just got kicked out of halls because too many noobs couldnt talk in alliance chat. Not even a gamebreaking bug. And why not at least fix ignore lists so you cant get text from an ignored person on your team?
If there's an update that does not affect PvP, it should not force pvpers to restart (vise versa for PvP-only updates like fixing relic runs).

Maybe someone just needs to tell NC to work smart, not hard? Always worked for me when I wanted to spend as little time on homework as possible
